Meaningful Moment
Family always comes in on top.
Had a good night unwinding from preparations with my son - Carlos, grandson - Jayden and a friend of his at the Rochester Amerks hockey game. The Amerks swept the Toronto Marlies 3 - 0. Good beer, good ice cream and fun times.
Also got out with my granddaughter - Adriana and Jayden for a Chick-Filet-A run.
Taking Gimli - chocolate lab - for 3 mile walks helps burn off energy, in addition to some light training for the camino.
Random Thought of the Day
The Rochester Lilac Festival is going on. I live next door to Highland Park and the overflow from the festival into the neighborhood can sometimes be taxing. And to think I used to enjoy crowds.
The take-away from this observation is that I may be feeling an urgent need to leave the cities of Spain behind and make it to the towns and villages.
Notable memories
I always enjoy talking about hiking in Europe along the various pilgrimage trails.
Today I gave a presentation on hiking in Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland and Germany.
I had a bigger crowd than I expected (12 people).
It seemed to me that everyone was interested. Because, as a speaker, I maintain eye contact with the audience, I am able to gauge whether they are interested or bored ... or openly hostile. Today I had interested folks. LOL
Lying under the shade of a most beautiful tree in the heat of a Castilian summer.
Already 9 days out of Madrid.
